Katie Hoff started her massage career in 2011 after completing the program at Finger Lakes School of Massage. Before pursuing massage, she graduated with a BA in History from Shippensburg University in 2010. While in college, Katie enjoyed studying abroad, traveling, and taking a wide range of classes. Katie’s passion for healing was ignited and fine tuned at FLSM, allowing clients to feel full healing potential from therapy sessions.

Her massage credentials include advanced training in the Myofascial Release Massage Technique with Howard Rontal, CranioSacral Therapy, advanced stretching, shoulder-specific muscle therapy, relaxation Swedish, and pregnancy-safe massage. Katie uses her 10+ year experience in this field to tailor massage sessions using a kinesiology and specific healing mindset. In her free time, Katie enjoys hiking, camping, chess, cross-stitch projects, and dance parties with her daughter!

Massage Techniques Offered

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release uses kinesiology and anatomy basepoints to work with the body’s web of fascia to promote a feeling of unhindered awareness. Especially helpful in range of motion and entrapment issues, scar tissue breakup, and repetitive stress tension.

CranioSacral Therapy

This form of therapy utilizes a very light touch, which releases tension on cranial bones, their moveable sutures, and allows nerves more space to function properly. Specific attention is paid to the cerebrospinal fluid rhythm felt throughout the body. Goals in this session include relieving nerve tension, aiding the body's self-healing techniques, and body awareness.

Athletic Recovery

An athlete’s body is subject to tremendous amounts of pressure through training and recovery, which is an important, although often underestimated, aspect of fitness. Certain stretching and massage techniques may significantly shorten necessary rehabilitation times.

Therapeutic Relaxation

Using a combination of Swedish, stretching, and connective tissue therapy, therapeutic relaxation massage is helpful for stress relief and an overall feeling of well-being.

Preganancy Massage

A side-laying modality, pregnancy massage allows the expecting mother a comfortable time to rejuvenate and focus on healing and building life. Especially helpful as pregnancy can add strain to joints and soft tissue, impede circulation, and amplify stress.
